Big Sean — Weekend Recap 23 (Cali Xmas)
Kid Cudi on Conan
How To Make It In America: “Luis Guzman” by Duck Sauce
HBO:
Let Luis Guzman take you around New York’s LES and show you the ropes. Meet his friends: Justin Bieber, Mark Wahlberg, Kid Cudi, Bryan Greenberg, Lake Bell, Victor Rasuk, Duck Sauce, Q-Tip, Pharrell Williams, Asher Roth, Pusha T, and many more.
These visuals for “Mr. Rager” debuted last night at Cudi’s premier of his Surface to Air collaboration jackets last night.
Directed by Jeremy Rozan of Surface to Air.
If you got a spare $1,200 in pocket, you can head over to the Surface to Air store at 27 Mercer, in Soho and pick one up.
These are some new visuals for a Kid Cudi and Dot Da Genius track for the upcoming movie Fright Night. The video is based on the movie, and is definitely a tweak. Although I am not really down with Cudder’s new rock movement, this song isn’t too bad, and I’m sure this dope video is his way of winning over those who are still undecided. Dope acting Cud.
Cudi acting>Yeezy acting
Ex-G.O.O.D. Music member Consequence officially drops this song, which originally leaked as a snippet back in January, and continues to rap about how he DOESN’T need G.O.O.D. Music to make it in the game. It is absurd that Cudi (obviously still with G.O.O.D. Music) is singing a hook on a song speaking against his crew, but even more ironic that Cons hopped on yet another Kanye West produced beat to speak out against him. The whole complaining about his former camp theme Consequence has going for MOD 3 is beginning to bore me, but Cudi provides him with a dope hook, and Yeezy did him a solid for giving him this smooth beat.
Some newly leaked unreleased Cudder. Supposedly a throw away from his Man on Moon sessions. Not his best work, but not too bad either.
Cudder somewhat makes up for yesterdays fuckery with these new visuals for his 4/20 anthem “Marijuana” off MOTM 2. Directed by friend of a friend (CAGE’s good friend) Shia LaBeouf.
The weed game needs CuDi back!
On Day 2 of his three-day concert stop in NYC, Cudder announced his new “label”, which he is calling “Wicked Awesome Records”, as well as his new band “2 Be Continuum”. Although Cudi has been playing guitar for only nine months now, he claims that he has a single dropping soon, and an album on its way.
Not sure how I feel about this new situation and rock concept, but seeing Cudi the other night definitely made me realize that he is still a dope artist, and I’m looking forward to hearing his new music.
(See announcement video below)
We all love Cudi, but is it wrong to love him for being “Mr. Rager”, and not sober cheesy Cudi? Cudi vocals usually are an automatic win, but this song was a little on the corny side. I hope this new Cudder can grow on me, or at least drop better songs…
*Okay, maybe I was too quick to judge. Peep the quote from Cudi’s Tumblr below. Apparently this was a reference track for some Chad Hugo (of N.E.R.D.) and Kenna project which he did last year. I stil stand firm on wanting a better track, and apparently he actually has something dropping in the near future:
“The song in which the world has titled “capcom” was done early last year for a project chad hugo and kenna were working on for a Street Fighter game and they reached out and asked me to be a part of it. This was a demo reference and i never really got to rework my verses or see the project through. Its old and isnt of my discography. I have a new jam im releasing soon and it will be current freshness. Stay tuned.”
New Cudder off Travis Barker’s upcoming album Give The Drummer Some. As much as this album is supposed to feature Barker’s ill drum beats and solos, it has turned into one which revolves around the features.
Cudi’s dope flow on this song is really all that I am listening to. I could care less about Travie’s drum solo at the end of the song…
